Rifle Self Defense Course  

The Rifle Self Defense Course costs $195 for the full day, including the Rifle Fundamentals Class and Intermediate Rifle Skills Class. In the Fundamentals class, we go over Firearms Safety and Safe Gun Handling, Defensive Rifle Options & Setups, Optics & Zero Options, and Long Gun Stance in the classroom. Then on the range we zero everyone's gun, work on Form for Defensive Shooting & Practical Accuracy at Speed. Students can bring any semi-auto rifle they prefer, including a 22LR or a PCC.

The intermediate class in the afternoon covers Shooting at Speed, Transition Drills, Engaging Multiple Targets, Shooting Targets on the Move, Reloads, Malfunctions and a Rifle Skills Assessment Drill. As in the fundamentals class, all semi-auto rifle platforms are welcome. Bring what you plan to use for home defense, and we'll help you get comfortable and confident using it.

Prerequisites: 

This class is open to everyone from beginners who have never shot a rifle to experienced shooters. Our Rifle Self Defense Course is structured to be beginner-friendly while challenging the best shooters to improve their shooting fundamentals.

Equipment: 

• Semi-auto rifle with quality sling
• 125-150 Rounds of ammunition each for the morning and afternoon classes (250-300 rounds total if taking both classes)
• Enough magazines to have 30 rounds of ammunition loaded at one time and at least 2 magazines
• At least 1 mag pouch
• Eye and ear protection
• Hydration and snacks
• When taking both classes, bring a Sack Lunch or Country Crossroads does have lunch items & is close to the range

*If you don’t have a rifle, we have you covered with a rental package that includes a rifle (AR-15 or AR-9), sling, magazines, mag pouch, and safety gear if needed.

Rifle Fundamentals Class: 

From 8:30 am - 12:30 pm and costs $120 if purchased separately from the full-day class.

Rifle Intermediate Skills Class 

From 1:30 pm - 5:00 pm and costs $100 if purchased separately from the full-day class.

• Rifle Skills Assessment Drill

Weather and the Class: 

We will have the class regardless of the weather on class day. We are inside for the classroom portion 2 hours and are on the range for 5 hours. Dress appropriately for the weather (hot or cold), but there is a covered area to shoot from on the range if there's rain.

Cancellation Policy:

• Cancellations received more than 24 hours before the Session start time will receive a free full Session cost transfer credit that can be used towards any Session we offer within 1 year.
• Cancellations received with less than 24 hours, but before the Session start time receives 50% of the Session cost as transfer credit towards any Session we offer within 1 year.
• Any ‘No Call-No Shows’ at the start time of the Session are not eligible for a refund or Session credit.
• Independence Firearms and Training holds Session regardless of the weather unless it is unsafe but reserves the right to cancel or reschedule Sessions at anytime. Students will be offered a rescheduled Session date or a full refund for the Session payment if a Session is canceled or rescheduled due to weather or unforeseen circumstances.
